10:00am - 2:00pm | Eagle Lake Depot Tour with Ken Stavinoha Join Ken Stavinoha, owner and curator of the historic Eagle Lake depot, for a guided tour rich in railroad history and local heritage. Ken will provide a brief overview of Eagle Lake’s railroad development, explain the original functions of each room in the depot, and highlight significant artifacts throughout. The tour will explore key topics such as the establishment of standard time, the evolution of railroad signaling colors, the history of express companies and parcel post, and the use of telegraphy and train orders. Ken will also discuss other historic railroad structures that once stood in Eagle Lake. The tour will begin around 10:00 AM, and guests are welcome to stay and explore until approximately 2:00 PM—allowing plenty of time for a convenient and less stressful drive home before traffic toward Rosenberg becomes heavy. |
