Kansas City Southern Historical Society, Inc. 44th Annual Convention


  • The Kansas City Southern Historical Society, Inc. will hold its 2025 Annual Convention on June 6th - June 8th in Rosenberg TX.

  • Join us for our 44th annual convention!

  • Registration required.

  • Registrations are due by May 6, 2025. Those received after this will be assessed a $10/person late fee. Registration is Now Closed.

            7:00pm       Annual General Membership Meeting

            8:00pm - 9:00pm       Model and Photo Contest Judging (winners will be announced at Saturday’s Banquet)

            8:00am       Board of Directors Meeting (Hotel/Longhorn Room)
            10:00am - 11:00am       Tour of Wharton Depot
          Local historian, and fellow KCSHS member, William Loocke will lead a tour of the depot and present on KCS’s rebuilding of the
          Rosenberg Subdivision between 2007 and 2009, the history of the depot, and the other railroads that served Wharton.
            Noon       Picnic Lunch and Train Watching at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum, located where the CPKC, BNSF, and UP all converge,
          1921 Avenue F, Rosenberg TX 77471
            2:00pm - 5:00pm       Free Time - Chase trains
            5:00pm - 7:00pm       Social Hour(s) at Ol' Railroad Cafe. Cash bar available.
            7:00pm - ??       Annual Dinner - Ol' Railroad Cafe, 1901 Avenue G, Rosenberg, TX 77471 (across the street from the railroad museum)
          Guest speaker from the CPKC Heritage Program
    Sunday, June 8, 2025
            10:00am - 2:00pm       Eagle Lake Depot Tour with Ken Stavinoha
          Join Ken Stavinoha, owner and curator of the historic Eagle Lake depot, for a guided tour rich in railroad history and local heritage.
          Ken will provide a brief overview of Eagle Lake’s railroad development, explain the original functions of each room in the depot,
          and highlight significant artifacts throughout. The tour will explore key topics such as the establishment of standard time, the evolution
          of railroad signaling colors, the history of express companies and parcel post, and the use of telegraphy and train orders. Ken will also
          discuss other historic railroad structures that once stood in Eagle Lake. The tour will begin around 10:00 AM, and guests are welcome to
          stay and explore until approximately 2:00 PM—allowing plenty of time for a convenient and less stressful drive home before traffic toward
          Rosenberg becomes heavy.
          Safe trip home.
